Continual advancements in boiler technology are leading to increased efficiencies, reduced emissions and smaller heat exchangers. Nevertheless the reduced size means that the boiler is more prone to the negative effects of limescale and corrosion which are detrimental to performance levels and consequently impact on the advantages gained by technological advancement. The correct use of water treatment can however ensure that boiler efficiency is maintained over the long term and that CO2 emissions are kept to a minimum.

CO2 emissions
In industrialised countries, domestic households account for around 25% of all CO 2 emissions.
By far the largest consumer of energy and hence CO
2
emissions in the home is the boiler for heating
and hot water systems.

Any technician you let in your home for yearly service on your equipment is responsible for the health of your system. You are paying money not only to reduce break downs but reduce your emissions and save fuel.
You would be amazed how many people think this is a wast of time.
If we could reduce the emissions of your equipment and reduce wear and tear on your equipment, saving you more money over the life time of your system would this not justify the yearly service of your equipment?
Pump replacement is costly, and means down time. Down time in Ontario means a cold winter night or even perhaps a day. Plate heat exchangers are becoming more and more common. Any build up in these units greatly affect their ability to transfer heat, there for increasing your yearly fuel bill. You cannot afford to simply not maintain these systems. The higher the efficiency of your hardware, the easier the efficiency drops with out maintenance. Your average 95% AFUE boiler is not able to perform to its ratings without something as simple as water treatment. Most boiler manufacturers insist that the water be treated that runs thru their boilers. Open your manual for your unit to verify this fact.

Armed with the above information, we looked for a product that would help our customers.
We found that product.

The following .pdf files will discuss effective water treatment.
We here at MSA Enterprises are confident you will be sold on this product.

To explain in better detail what has to be done to flush your system we have also attached the instructions for flushing a system.
Be aware all systems are not a like.
Times and procedures do vary for a flush, and treatment.

Please take the above information as a sign of our commitment to you the customer.
Has your current service company even mentioned water treatment?

During the flushing of a system we can assess upgrades needed to your system.
Water in Muskoka is a big variable. Everyone states they have perfect water.
Very few people are willing to admit there is a possible water issue.
With an additional fee MSA Enterprises will send out a water sample from your system to have it analysed. MSA Enterprises will then will advise you accordingly.
Eg. If your water supply has trace iron particles we would advise a Boiler Buddy.
This device would remove all iron and metal particulates.

If you have Tannin in your water we will advise that you change your system to a to a reservoir system. This means no fresh water from your home will be added to the system. All water will be imported from another safe water source.

Tannin is better treated before it gets into the system with carbon filters and a water ph level of 5. If you stay with an autofeed device that draws water from a Tannin contaminated water source, you must monitor your PH level monthly to prevent contamination. As soon as your water ph level increases to a ph of 6 the Tannin molecules will start to form anions again. Water treatment with this system varies with water source. Treatment could range from every month to once a year.
